Respect is the basis of human coexistence.
If respect dies in a society, the end of that society is certain—certain as death. There are many forms and ways to let respect die. Selfishness and decadence are just two of the culprits. It is even worse when the number of narcissists in a society exceeds a critical level. This level has been greatly exceeded in many Western societies, and it is particularly high among the "leaders" of these societies.
What does that lead to?
The spread of selfishness and decadence in society is causing respect to die slowly, almost unnoticed. The egotists and the decadents dominate the quiet and the followers until respect seems old-fashioned, outdated, yesterday's news. "Values" are out, "Woke" is in.
If a sufficient number of narcissists in such a society are not put in their place, the death, the end of this society is certain. More than enough narcissists are bound to emerge from the deliberate” egoists, the value-free arbitrariness of "modern" societies, and the particular interests of "democratic" organizations that are fragmented beyond recognition.
But what is the common problem of decadents, egoists, and narcissists?
They cannot develop respect in any direction because they lack a compass. Respect, however, requires this compass and the calibrator of respect is respect for oneself. A person can only develop this by actively setting boundaries. And it is precisely this compass that the decadent, the egotist, and the narcissist lack.
Only respect for oneself, the recognition of one's own specialness without the exaltation of the ego, can provide the necessary calibration of the subconscious. The basis for this is setting one's own boundaries and accepting the boundaries of others. And this is precisely where the decadent, the egotist, and the narcissist fail.
Anyone who understands this also understands where the solution for our world lies.
Those who understand this also understand why the world is where it is.
And those who understand this have respect for themselves and others and are optimistic about the future.
Because respect will not die.
Everybody who understands this understands every day better:
The best is yet to come!
